Rockaway Man Was Drunk, Fled Scene After Crash At High School: Police
A 44-year-old Rockaway man was arrested and hit with multiple charges following a hit-and-run crash at Morris Knolls High School on Wednesday, April 24, authorities said.
David DeRosa was drunk when the crash occurred, Denville police said. He was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving, leaving the scene of a crash, failure to report a motor vehicle crash and improper backing, police said. DeRosa was also charged with child neglect, police said.
DeRosa was arrested for the above offenses and transported to police headquarters for processing, officers said. DeRosa was released …
Dad, Daughters 7, 10, Hit By Car Walking To School In Old Tappan
UPDATE: A dad and his two young daughters were struck by a car in Old Tappan while walking to school, authorities said.
Officer Nicholas Antonucci, who was in the area, responded to the call at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, Police Chief Joseph Tracy said.
The officer found the 44-year-old father and his two girls -- ages 7 and 10 -- injured, the chief said.
They apparently had been on Charles Street crossing Kay Street in the crosswalk on their way to the T. Baldwin Demarest School when a driver making a left in his 2016 Hyundai hit them, he said.

A 48-year-old man is facing charges several weeks after a 7-year-old girl fell to her death from the bed of his pickup truck in Montgomery County, authorities said.
Andres Marin, 48, of Plymouth Meeting, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, homicide by vehicle, and related offenses in the Tuesday, Aug. 22 fatality, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele said.
