Bear Struck Dead On US 15 Near Gettysburg: Authorities (Photos) A bear was killed when a pick-up truck hit it on US Route 15 in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, authorities say.  A white pick-up truck hit the bear crossing Rt. 15 north a little after 10 a.m. on July 26, 2023, according to the Barlow Volunteer Fire Department. Officers were called to a home on Scott Street in Butler the day after the Saturday, August 20 attack, police said. The 30-year-old Haskell resident was headed north by herself on the highway when her 2016 Subaru WRX hit the bear between Ewing and Summit avenues in Franklin Lakes around 11 p.m. Friday, Capt.
