Someone reported squeaking noises come from a storm drain in Lititz while then were out on a walk. A passerby reported the squeaks to local police. The bird, a fluffy white budgie, was found on Irenhyl Avenue in Rye and taken to the Rye Brook Police Department Monday afternoon, June 10. Rye Police said on Tuesday, June 11 that the bird was in the possession of the shelter. Anyone who thinks they recognize the parakeet may call  914-632-2925. The Wayne church's annual ceremony commemorates the life of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals and the environment, with singing to and praying for all animals. Every year on Oct. 4 (St. Francis Day), the Grace United Presbyterian Church -- and others in the area -- invite pet owners to have their pets blessed, this year by Rev. Andy Smith.
