A new state-run mass vaccination site has been announced for the Hudson Valley. The state will establish the site in Rockland County at Rockland Community College's Eugene Levy Fieldhouse, located at 145 College Road, in Suffern. A long-needed $33 million paving project on Long Island has been completed. The completion of the project that included several major road resurfacing projects was announced on Thursday, Dec. 10, by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo. The projects were untaken to enhanced safety and improved travel conditions on portions of the Northern State Parkway and other well-traveled roads, the Governor's Office said. The $3.2 million dollar replacement of the Salt Point Turnpike Bridge in the Town of Pleasant Valley has been completed. Construction, which included the replacement of the bridge over Wappinger Creek, the reconfiguration of an intersection and the replacement of an adjacent culvert, began on April 16 of 2019. The new bridge has two new four-foot-wide shoulders, improving safety and mobility along State Route 115, and the culvert promotes the health of the waterway by allowing water to flow more freely through the area.
