Girl, 13, Pulled From Maywood Pool
A 13-year-old girl was pulled from the municipal pool in Maywood on Labor Day, police said. A lifeguard quickly got to the drowning teen, witnesses said. The good news: She was alert and conscious when EMS took her to Hackensack University Medical Center, Maywood Police Detective Sgt. William Phayre said.

A 13-year-old girl was shot in front of a large Connecticut hospital during what police are calling a gunfight between the occupants of two vehicles. The incident took place in New Haven around 2:30 a.m., Sunday, July 30 in front of Yale New Haven Hospital. The search was on in Monmouth County for a 13-year-old boy who was riding in a stolen vehicle being driven by a 13-year-old girl that crashed over the weekend, police said. Holmdel officers were trying to stop the stolen car on Laurel Avenue around 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, near Highway 35, when the driver stopped then sped off, police said. The vehicle then crashed on Middle Road, at the intersection of Laurel Avenue, and officers were able to apprehend two of the occupants, both 13-year-old girls from Neptune. Teen Girl Who Accidentally Shot Herself In Newark Dies
A 13-year-old girl who accidentally shot herself on Friday night has died, sources with direct knowledge of the incident tell Daily Voice. The teen had been hospitalized after shooting herself in a Schley Street home around 11:30 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said previously. She died around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 at University Hospital, sources said. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating.

Teen Girl Dies In Berks County ATV Crash
A 13-year-old girl died in an ATV crash in Berks County over the weekend, authorities said. The Hamburg girl was heading west on Virginville Road when she lost control of the Polaris Trailboss 325 while riding in the shoulder, went off the road, hit a fence and overturned around 5:50 p.m Friday, April 22. in Perry Township, according to State Police. She was not wearing a helmet, authorities said. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 13-year-old girl was charged with murder in the shooting death of a 35-year-old man in Jersey City earlier this month, authorities said. The teen was apprehended and arrested by Jersey City police just before 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve, near Union Street and MLK Drive, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Lifeless Girl, 13, Pulled From Backyard Mahwah Pool
A 13-year-old girl was clinging to life after responders pulled her from a backyard pool in Mahwah on Thursday. The girl was among visitors to a Snow Drive home when she drifted into the deep end, responders said. The others apparently didn't know how to swim and, instead, tried to get her to grab onto items so they could pull her out, they said.
