17-Year-Old Killed After Car Strikes Overpass On Route 55: Njsp A 17-year-old Sewell resident was killed in a crash on Route 55 after striking an overpass on the early morning of Thursday, April 17, authorities said. At 12:11 a.m., officers responded to Route 55 South in Deptford township after a Toyota Camry driving southbound veered off the roadway to the left and struck a concrete overpass support and a tree, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver, who has not been identified, sustained fatal injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
