Small Plane Crashes Near Somerset Airport: FAA A small plane crashed near the Somerset Airport Wednesday evening, Sept. 4, the FAA said. The FAA said only that two people were on board the single-engine Piper PA-28 that crashed around 7 p.m. near the airport in Bedminster. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB will lead the investigation and will provide any updates. No further details were provided.

A motorist was heading south when the driver lost control, struck a guardrail, and overturned near milepost 61.4 in Franklin Lakes just before 10 a.m., a spokesperson for New Jersey State Police said. The driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
