Small Plane Crashes Near Somerset Airport: FAA
A small plane crashed near the Somerset Airport Wednesday evening, Sept. 4, the FAA said. The FAA said only that two people were on board the single-engine Piper PA-28 that crashed around 7 p.m. near the airport in Bedminster. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB will lead the investigation and will provide any updates. No further details were provided.

The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force is investigating a fire that left a man seriously injured in Jersey City overnight. The Jersey City Fire Department received a 911 call for a fire at 366 1⁄2 7th Street in Jersey City around 2:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A 24-year-old woman has been arrested after police say she pinned a pedestrian between her car and a vehicle she'd struck while trying to flee the scene on Labor Day in Bergen County. A 52-year-old assistant principal has been arrested after authorities said she assaulted a 5-year-old child in Northern Virginia. Firefighters Clear Rollover Crash In Ridgefield
Firefighters in Ridgefield cleared the scene of a rollover crash Wednesday morning, Sept. 4. The two-vehicle crash happened just before 10:15 a.m. at Broad and Maple avenues, firefighters said. One person was hospitalized in a rollover crash on Route 287 Wednesday morning, Sept. 4, authorities said. A motorist was heading south when the driver lost control, struck a guardrail, and overturned near milepost 61.4 in Franklin Lakes just before 10 a.m., a spokesperson for New Jersey State Police said. The driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
