Rocco Varbaro, 89, Of New Rochelle
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Rocco Varbaro, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died June 18. He was 89.
Varbaro was born July 5, 1926, in Scilla, Reggio Calabria, Italy, to Rocco and Antonia (nee Labozetta) Varbaro.
He was predeceased by his parents and wife Maria (nee Arbitrio).
Varbaro is survived by two sons, Pat and his wife Kathy, and Anthony; two daughters, Nancy DiMarino and her husband Robert and Flavia Garufi and her husband Chris; six grandchildren; two brothers, Giuseppe and his wife Grazia and Antonio and his wife Santa; sister Giuseppa Imbesi; and many nieces and nephews.

STRATFORD, Conn. – Joseph Michael LaPorta, of Stratford, died on June 18. He was 86.
LaPorta was born on Jan. 25, 1930 to Joseph and Pasqualina LaPorta, graduating from the Fairfield College Preparatory School and the University of Bridgeport.
He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, wife Agnes, longtime friend Thaddaeus Krok.

Mary Ann Kurtz, 76, Of Trumbull
TRUMBULL, Conn. – Mary Ann Kurtz (nee Boelter), a lifelong resident of Trumbull, died on June 18 in her home. She was 76.
Kurtz was born in Bridgeport to Alfred and Mary (nee Kaechele) Boelter, graduating from Bassick High School and the University of Bridgeport.
She worked as a medical assistant in physical therapy and internal medicine.
Kurtz was active in the Trumbull community, working with the Ladies Auxiliary Trumbull Volunteer Fire Department, the Daniels Farm PTA and the Trumbull EMS among other organizations.
