Domenico F. Riggio, 96, Fair Lawn Resident
FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Domenico F. Riggio died Tuesday, Jan. 5. He was 96.
Born and raised in Sicily, Riggio served in the Italian Army. He immigrated to the United States in 1962.
Before retiring, he was a mechanic with Standard Springs in Paterson for 24 years. He was a parishioner of St. Anne Church in Fair Lawn. He was an experienced wine maker and also enjoyed gardening.
Riggio is survived by his children, Joseph Riggio and wife Lisa, Rosa Funcheon and husband Jim, and Maria Dizzia and husband Salvatore; and grandchildren Danielle, Andrew, Christina, Ashley, Julia and Brandon.

Domenico Carriero, 83, Elmwood Park Resident
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Domenico Carriero, an Elmwood Park resident and formerly a longtime resident of Paterson, died Wednesday, Jan. 6. He was 83.
Born in Italy, Carriero came to the United States in 1965. He lived in Paterson for 50 years before moving to Elmwood Park five months ago.
Carriero worked for the Paterson Public Library for 12 years before retiring.
His is survived by his wife, Lucia (Salluce); children Domenico and his wife Lisa, Rocco and his wife Gina, and Carlo; five grandchildren; and sister Maria Santantonio.

Shirley Anne Baker, 79, Former Hasbrouck Heights Resident
HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Shirley Anne (Crider) Baker, a Morris Plains resident and formerly of Wood-Ridge and Hasbrouck Heights, died Wednesday, Jan. 6. She was 79.
Born in Louisville, Ky., Baker was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Gruber and her husband Stephen and Harry Richard Baker III and his wife Amy; and grandchildren, Stephen Richard Gruber, Melissa Marie Baker and Harry Richard Baker IV.
Baker was predeceased by her husband, Harry Richard "Tiny" Baker Jr.' and her parents, Joel and Georgina Crider.

Hans Fuchs, 73, Retired Norwalk Doctor
NORWALK, Conn. -- Longtime Norwalk doctor Hans Martin Fuchs, most recently a resident of Providence, R.I., died on Thursday, Dec. 24. He was 73.
Fuchs was born in Germany in 1942 to Walther Peter Fuchs and Marianne (Kraemer) Fuchs.
He earned a medical degree and doctorate from the University of Heidelberg in the 1960s. He and his wife immigrated to the United States, and he completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Norwalk Hospital in 1976. He practiced there until he retired, in 2008.

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- The Township of Saddle Brook's Zoning Board of Adjustment and Planning Board will hold reorganization meetings on Tuesday, Jan. 11, and Tuesday, Jan. 19, respectively.

James 'Jimmy' Skrepetis, 93, Longtime Stamford Resident, Tailor
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Longtime Stamford resident James "Jimmy" Skrepetis died on Tuesday, Jan. 5. He was 93.
Born in Greece, Skrepetis was the youngest of 13 children. He fought in the Greek Army for three years during World War II. He, his wife and their first two children immigrated to the United States in 1966, settling in Stamford.
He was an expert tailor, with nearly 81 years in the trade, providing his expertise to 22 stores over his career. Skrepetis also enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables and beautiful flowers.
