He immigrated to the United States in 1962. Before retiring, he was a mechanic with Standard Springs in Paterson for 24 years. He was a parishioner of St. Anne Church in Fair Lawn. He was an experienced wine maker and also enjoyed gardening. Fuchs was born in Germany in 1942 to Walther Peter Fuchs and Marianne (Kraemer) Fuchs. He earned a medical degree and doctorate from the University of Heidelberg in the 1960s. He and his wife immigrated to the United States, and he completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Norwalk Hospital in 1976. Born in Greece, Skrepetis was the youngest of 13 children. He fought in the Greek Army for three years during World War II.
