The store designated Kids in Crisis as the beneficiary of its 5 percent Giving Day, held Jan. 14. Five percent of all purchases made that day were given to the Cos Cob-based children's shelter and community resource, which recently announced a $750,000 state funding cut. RoseMarie Demeter, 88, Lifelong Bridgeport Resident BRIDGEPORT, Conn. --RoseMarie Sastre Demeter, a lifelong Bridgeport resident, died on Monday, Feb. 29. She was 88.Demeter worked for the Pepperidge Farms Bakery for over 20 years, until her retirement. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Emery's Church and belonged to the St. Emery's Seniors group and enjoyed its bus trips with her friends. She enjoyed cooking for her family, doting on her grandchildren and the occasional trip to the casino.
