29-Year-Old Man Gunned Down On CT Roadway In Broad Daylight A man walking down a Connecticut city street was killed by a passenger in a vehicle firing out of the window in broad daylight. The incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. in New Haven on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the intersection of Grand Avenue and East Pearl Street. According to Sgt. Cherelle Carr of the New Haven Police, officers responded to the area after receiving a report of a gunshot victim. Travel Alert: Route 9 Lane Closures In Hudson Valley For Road Work Motorists should expect single and double-lane closures along Route 9 in the Hudson Valley for road paving. The closures will take place in Dutchess County from into Friday, Nov. 17, in both directions between Liss Road in the village of Wappingers and Trailer Park in the town of Poughkeepsie, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closures began overnight Wednesday, Nov. 15 into Thursday, Nov. 16. The closures will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting, DOT said. Man From Region Caught Burglarizing Tattoo Shop By Employee, Police Say A 34-year-old man from the region was nabbed after he allegedly broke into an area tattoo studio. The incident took place in Sullivan County in the town of Liberty around 9:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at the City Lights II Tattoo Studio on Route 52. According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, the sheriff's department responded to the studio after receiving a report of a burglary in progress. The Village of Liberty Police arrived on the scene first and detained the suspect for the responding deputies, Chaboty said. Deputies arrested Byron T. Santiago, age 34, of Woodbourne. …

Man Nabbed For Darien Bank Robbery By GPS Tracker, Police Say A 42-year-old man has been charged with a bank robbery after a GPS device placed in the money bag led to the vehicle used during the heist in Connecticut. The suspect was charged with robbery on Friday, Nov. 10 after he was extradited on a warrant from a Massachusetts correctional facility for the crime that took place in 2021 in Fairfield County on Friday, Dec. 24, 2021, officers in the town of Darien responded to the Peoples Bank located at 25 Old Kings Highway on an active hold-up alarm. Man Jumps To Death From Bear Mountain Bridge A 48-year-old man jumped to his death from a Hudson Valley bridge. The incident took place on Friday, Nov. 10 at the Bear Mountain Bridge near in the town of Cortlandt in Northern Westchester County. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, New Jersey resident Aleksey P. Mikhaylov, of Northvale, was located and pronounced dead at the scene. No signs of foul play were discovered at this time, Hicks said. The Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office was on scene for the investigation.

Woman Jumps From Bridge In Hudson Valley New update: ID Released For Woman Who Died After Jumping From Bridge In Hudson Valley A woman jumped to her death from a bridge in the region. The incident took place in Dutchess County in Beacon just before 6 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, the woman's body has been recovered. Notification of next of kin is still taking place, so the woman's identity has not yet been released. Man Standing On Roadway In Westchester Struck, Killed By Tractor-Trailer, Police Say A man standing in the center lane of I-287 in the Hudson Valley was hit and killed by a tantum tractor-trailer and then struck by a second vehicle. The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13 in Westchester County in Harrison near mile marker No. 6. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, the unidentified man was standing in the center lane when the tractor-trailer came upon him and could not stop in time. The man was then hit by the vehicle behind the tractor-trailer, Hicks said. He was pronounced dead by the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office. …

Serial Burglar Of Hudson Valley Cemeteries, Synagogue Nabbed, Police Say A New York man has been charged with five separate alleged burglaries that occurred in the Hudson Valley over the past three months. Maurice Deutsch, age 40, of Brooklyn, was arrested by the Ramapo Police on Friday, Nov. 10, for the burglaries that took place in Rockland County in the village of New Hempstead and the Monsey area. According to Det. Lt. Christopher Franklin, of the Ramapo Police, on three occasions, Deutsch had entered a building on the grounds of a cemetery in New Hempstead and removed proceeds from a charity box.
