Stamford Man Charged With Sexually Abusing 16-Year-Old Boy He Met On Snapchat A Fairfield County man is behind bars following his arrest on child exploitation charges for allegedly sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy. Rick Marro, age 42, of Stamford was charged on Thursday, Jan. 18 following an investigation into the allegations made by the boy in August 2023, said Vanessa Roberts Avery, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Marro appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge S. Dave Vatti in Bridgeport and was ordered detained, Avery said. CT Man Calls In Bomb Threats To Police Department, Courthouse, Federal Building, Officials Say A Connecticut man is behind bars after allegedly calling in bomb threats to a Police Department, a federal building, and a federal courthouse. The incident took place in New Haven around noon on Thursday, Jan. 18 when the police department received a call claiming bombs had been placed at all three locations, said the New Haven Police. Danbury Water Main Break Closes Wcsu Campuses Western Connecticut State University in Fairfield County has closed for the day because of a water main break. The break took place in Danbury on the Westside early Friday, Jan. 19. According to college officials, both WestConn campuses -- Midtown on White Street and Westside off Lake Avenue Extension -- are closed. CT Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of Juvenile A Connecticut man has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a juvenile in the past. New Haven County resident John MacSweeney, age 39, of Waterbury, was charged on Sunday, Jan. 15 after turning himself in to Milford Police. Milford Police said MacSweeney was developed as a suspect after receiving a complaint in Oct. 2023 that a juvenile had been sexually assaulted in the past. House Fire Sends Firefighter To Hospital, 14 Residents Displaced In Danbury A Fairfield County firefighter was taken to the hospital and 14 residents were left homeless following a two-alarm house fire. The blaze started in Danbury just after 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17 on Locust Avenue. Arriving firefighters found a 3-story, multi-family home with heavy smoke emitting from multiple sides, said Capt. Hudson Valley Drunk Driver Nabbed Following High-Speed Chase, Police Say A Hudson Valley alleged drunk driver was nabbed after taking police on a high-speed chase through multiple jurisdictions. The incident took place in Dutchess Couty around 11:10 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14 in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, Scott W. Owen, age 27, of Poughkeepsie refused to stop for a sheriff's deputy on Route 9 near the town of Hyde Park. Missing: Silver Alert Issued For 16-Year-Old Norwalk Girl A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Fairfield County girl who hasn't been seen in several hours. Keymani Graham, age 16, of Norwalk, was last seen during the overnight hours of Wednesday, Jan. 17. She is described as being 5-foot-5, 140 pounds, with black hair. 17-Year-Old Victim In Hudson Valley Double-Fatal Crash Was 'Easy To Love' Friends and family members are remembering a 17-year-old teen killed in a double-fatal crash as loving sports and his family. Jack J. Noble, of the hamlet of Port Ewen, died unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 8, during the collision in Ulster County around 9 a.m., Monday, Jan. 8 on Route 28 in the town of Shandaken.
