Remember Winter's Past With Katonah Historical Museum's New Exhibit
KATONAH, N.Y. -- "Winter Dreaming," the Katonah Historical Museum's holiday exhibit, opened recently and will run Saturdays through Dec. 17, according to organizers.
The exhibit, which kicked off Sunday with a cookie and cider reception, displays a variety of items that "kept the minds and hands of past Katonah residents busy during the long winter months," organizers said, adding that the exhibit will be open from 1-3 p.m. on Dec. 10 and Dec. 17.

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – An education conference focused on the four Cs of learning tackled new territory recently, adding a fifth C to the list.
Discussing various elements of communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking, Student Engagement Through the Four Cs – composed of 21 workshops – was organized by the Putnam-Northern Weschester BOCES, according to organizers, who added that a fifth C, climate, also became a key topic.

Stratford's Fright Haven Puts Scary Spin On Christmas
STRATFORD, Conn. – During four nights this holiday season he’ll know when you’ve been screaming, he’ll know when you’re afraid.
"A Frightmare Before Christmas," the creepy twist on the holiday, will be hosted by Fright Haven in Stratford, according to a release from the business, which said it offers the largest indoor Halloween Haunted House across the state.
The event is scheduled Friday, Dec. 9; Saturday, Dec. 10; Friday, Dec. 16; and Saturday, Dec. 17, and features several new experiences and attractions in the haunted house, which will be decked out for the holiday season.

Best-selling Children's Author To Visit Lodi Memorial Library
LODI, N.J. -- A best-selling, award-winning children's author is to appear Saturday at the Lodi Memorial Library.
Christopher Raschka, author of "A Ball for Daisy" and "The Hello, Goodbye Window," won the Caldecott Medal in 2006 and 2012, according to a statement from the library.
The author is set to appear at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, library officials said, adding that he will be reading from and autographing his best-selling books.
The library will hold a light reception after the book signing to honor Raschka's visit, according to organizers.
