POMONA, N.Y. -- A female terrier mix is the Hi Tor Animal Care Center's Pet of the Week.Jade, who is said to be 2-3 years old, was recently surrendered because her owner could no longer care for her, according to the shelter, which said that she is friendly and affectionate when comfortable in her environment.
Though she "starts out a bit shy at first," the housebroken dog "will warm up nicely," according to the shelter.

Police: Brewster Man Among Two Caught With Oxycodone, Heroin In Yorktown
Two men facing criminal charges in Yorktown are accused of possessing oxycodone and heroin.
According to Yorktown police, James L. Davis, 22, of Brewster and Michael Olsen, 32, of Boonton, New Jersey, were arrested about 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, near a Lee Road gas station.
Officers were conducting surveillance at the gas station when they saw "drug activity" inside a car, police said.
