Pound Ridge Library Launches Photography Exhibit POUND RIDGE, N.Y. – A husband-and-wife team from Connecticut have their artwork displayed at an ongoing exhibit at the Pound Ridge Library through April 23. Ann Dahlgren and Douglas Foulke are based in Brookfield, Conn., and ply their trade in New York City. Between the two, a full range of styles and mediums will be displayed. Plans are for the exhibit to include large-scale metal prints, hand-coated platinum emulsion photographs and framed archival digital prints. Brewster VFW Post Serves Up Breakfast Fundraiser BREWSTER, N.Y. – Brewster Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 672’s latest breakfast fundraiser will take place Sunday from 9-11 a.m. The menu includes waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and made-to-order omelets and more. All are welcome, and no reservations are needed. Adults are $10, young adults are $5 and children under 12 are free. Pequenakonck Elementary Marks Autism Awareness Day NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – Pequenakonck Elementary School students in North Salem are being asked to mark Autism Awareness Day on Friday, April 1, by wearing blue. The project is the brainchild of local Girl Scout Troop 1147, whose members are completing their Bronze Award requirements. Their aim is to bring attention to underdiagnosed and misunderstood members of the community. PQ students can wear anything blue, even socks or pants.

Libby Pataki Steps Down As Director Of Putnam County Visitors Bureau PUTNAM, N.Y. – Former state first lady Libby Pataki resigned as director of the Putnam County Visitors Bureau on Friday, amid investigations into her role with two local tourism nonprofits, according to lohud.com. Along with her directorship in the Visitors Bureau, Pataki set up the Putnam Tourism Corp. in 2012, lohud.com said. An investigation revealed that both nonprofits are in violation of state law because neither has a board of directors, reported lohud.com. Yorktown Police Investigating Apparent Suicide YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Yorktown police are investigating an apparent suicide that happened on Thursday night at a home on Van Cortlandt Circle. Police were called at around 11 p.m. by a man who was threatening to harm himself with a gun. When officers arrived at the home and finished setting up a perimeter, a single gunshot was heard. The victim was later identified as 35-year-old Jason Neale of Yorktown, who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
