MILLBURY, Mass. - Tuesday afternoon was supposed to be a very busy time for sports at Millbury High School. The boys varsity baseball team and the girls varsity softball team were to take on Sutton High School, and the girls varsity track team had the SWCL Championship meet at Auburn.
But Mother Nature intervened and the rains came, forcing the cancellation of all three events. Wasn't it just a short time ago that the area was settled into a deep drought?
The softball team got rained out Monday as well at Quaboag while the baseball team moved the game to Millbury where they played Millbury as the visiting team.
The girls track team will hold their SWCL Championship meet Wednesday in Auburn at 3:15 p.m., which coincidentally is the same time the boys varsity track SWCL Championships are being held.
No immediate time table is available on the make-up for the Sutton games however, while Millbury's teams are off tomorrow, Sutton's baseball and softball teams have games scheduled against Uxbridge.
