Millbury Track Opens With Wins Over Grafton

MILLBURY, Mass. - The Millbury Girls Track Team cruised to two wins over Grafton and Oxford while the Boys beat Grafton but tied Oxford in the opener for the spring season.

The Lady Woolies easily outdistanced Oxford by the score of 97-37 and even more so over Grafton High by a 100-36 score. Molly McCausland was the big winner in the Javelin event winning with a distance of 109'1" beating her nearest competitor by more than 40 feet.

McCausland also took the discus throw for the Woolies while Brooke Nadeau took the 100, 200 and Triple Jump.

The Boys team beat Grafton 81-55, with perhaps the highlight being Grafton's Obi Melifonwu holding off Bobby Boire in the 100 and the Woolies tied Oxford at 68-68 when the Oxford team won the last race of the day a 1 mile relay to force a tie.

The next home meet for the Woolies is on Wednesday, April 18 when they host Leicester and Shepherd Hill.
