MILLBURY, Mass. — After a series of wins at local and regional competitions, the cheerleaders from Millbury-Sutton AYF Football and Cheer are headed to Kissimmee, Fla. for nationals on Thursday.

At the Central Mass AYF competition earlier in November, Millbury-Sutton's 15-year-old level cheerleaders placed first and the 12-year-old level cheerleaders placed third, giving them the opportunity to compete in the New England Regional Cheering Championships on Nov. 24.

The Millbury-Sutton Raiders then came in second at the Providence Competition, advancing them to the National Championships in Florida, according to chair coordinator Penny Hill.

Excited for their win, the cheerleaders were out raising spirits as well as funds at Millbury's Chain of Lights celebration on Sunday, collecting cans and selling candy to raise enough for each girl to travel to the competition.
