MILLBURY, Mass. - The Millbury High girls softball team took one on the chin Friday afternoon, losing to the Tantasqua Warriors 15-0 at Millbury High.

The Warriors got off to a very quick start during a huge eight run first inning. After a couple of runs were already in with a single to center, a bunt single and then an error, right fielder Kaylee Desroches struck the big blow.

Coming up with the bases loaded, she laced a triple to right that cleared the bases and put the Woolies squarely behind the eight-ball right off the bat. Desroches finished the game 3-4 with 6 RBIs. Third baseman Jeszy Maguire was 4-4 for the Warriors.

Pitcher Jordan Kingman was outstanding for Tantasqua allowing only two hits, mixing up her pitches and keeping the Woolies batters off balance.

One bright spot for Millbury was the stellar play of Sarah MacAdam at shortstop. She turned in some sparkling play in the field and eventually came on to pitch once the game got out of hand.

The Lady Woolies (2-5) return to action on Saturday afternoon as they play Oxford in a makeup game that was rained out on Monday. Game time is 1 p.m. at Windle Field.
