MILLBURY, Mass. — The Millbury High School Girls Volleyball team won the Central Mass District Finals 3-0 over Millis at Hudson High School on Saturday afternoon.
The Woolies (17-7) cruised in straight sets. 25-13, 25-22 and 25-13, over the Mohawks for the first championship in Millbury history.
Millbury was led by Payton Bruegger, who had six blocks and 10 kills, including the game winner in the third and final set. Shanna Hudgin had seven kills and 13 service points, Sarah MacAdam had seven kills and 11 service points and Nickie Machacz set it up with 24 assists.
With the win, the Lady Woolies advance to the state semifinals, where they will play Lynnfield Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Tewksbury High School.
