Roger Chagnon, 81, Former Millbury Paper Cutter

MILLBURY, Mass. – Roger M. Chagnon, formerly of Millbury, died Dec. 30 at Elaine Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hadley, Mass. He was 81.

He was born July 10, 1931, in Worcester to Joseph and Rose Dumont Chagnon. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He worked as a paper cutter and retired from Avery Dennison Co. in 1993.

Chagnon is survived by two sons, Joseph R. (Inson) Chagnon of Amherst, Mass., and Ronald R. Chagnon of Portland, Texas; two brothers, Paul and Edward Chagnon, both of Whitinsville, Mass.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Norman Chagnon; and two sisters, Mildred LeBlanc and Claire Boulay.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home in Worcester. Burial will be at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, Mass. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home before the service.
