Obituary: Bernard Morris Stachura, 48

MILLBURY, Mass. - Bernard Morris Stachura, 48, died unexpectedly July 13, 2012.

He is survived by parents Joseph P. Stachura Sr. and Lillian (Morris) Stachura of Uxbridge, a brother Joseph P. Stachura Jr. and his wife Mary (Dodge) Stachura of N. Smithfield, R.I., Mary Elisabeth "Betsy" Carraway and husband Charles of Terry, Miss., Susanna and her husband Marc Shulman of Coral Gables, Fla., and Anne Elizabeth Stachura of Uxbridge. He leaves seven nieces and nephews and by his dear uncles Rev. Thaddeus X. Stachura, pastor of Our Lady of Czestochowa parish in Worcester, and Thomas M. Stachura of Auburn,  his aunt Mary (Stachura) Renaud, as well as several cousins.

An avid outdoorsman, Bernard enjoyed mountain and ice climbing, fishing and skiing. He was a black belt first Dan in Taekwondo and as such, served as an international olympic referee. A graduate gemologist in the highest of standing, he annually scored perfectly in the gems and gemology challenge. Highly accomplished in every endeavor he undertook, he was generous to all and very kind-hearted. He is greatly missed.

The funeral was privately held at Our Lady of Czestochowa church with his uncle officiating, burial in St. Mary's Cemetary in Uxbridge.
