MILLBURY, Mass. – Lucienne M. Vaillancourt LaRose, a Milbury native, died Jan. 15, with family by her side. She was 92.

LaRose was born June 12, 1920, in Millbury to Arsene and Angeline Vaillancourt. She graduated from Assumption School and Millbury High School. She moved to Oxford, Mass., after marrying Ernest V. LaRose in Millbury in 1941.

She worked as a nursing assistant and physical therapist's aide at Sandalwood Nursing Home in Oxford for 18 years. A longtime member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford, she enjoyed knitting and making afghans for her family and baby sets for family newborns.

LaRose also sewed, crocheted, braided and hooked rugs and grew a large garden every year with her husband. She lived at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northbridge, Mass., for the last several years.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Joseph) Perry, of Oxford, and Karen (James) LeClaire, of Millbury; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Arsene Vaillancourt, of SouthYarmouth, Mass., Ronald Vaillancourt, of Douglas, Mass., and Robert Vaillancourt, of Millbury.

Her husband died in 2002.

LaRose also was predeceased by a son, Ernest V. LaRose Jr.;  three sisters, Lorraine Witkowski, Nora Mae Dalphe and Gail Rawinski; and

A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday at St. Roch’s Church. Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford handled arrangements.
