Edna M. Wyman Rutherford

MILLBURY, Mass. – Edna M. Wyman Rutherford of Millbury died Jan. 30 at Meadows Nursing Home in Leicester, Conn., with family at her side. She was 88.

Rutherford was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Walter and Marie Wyman. She lived in Leicester, Worcester and Millbury.

A homemaker, she enjoyed being with her large family. She spent time with many friends, played bingo, enjoyed country music and traveling to Maine and Vermont to visit friends.

She is survived by two sons, James (Madeline) O'Brien, of Leicester, and George (Pamela) Leveillee Jr., of Northbridge; a daughter, Rose Gilbert, of Sutton; a daughter-in-law, Patricia O'Brien, of Leicester; two siblings, Rita Richards, of Sutton, and Raymond Wyman, of Spencer; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three husbands, George A. Leveillee Sr., in 1977, Gerald Rutherford and William O'Brien Sr.; two sons, William O'Brien Jr. and Walter O'Brien; a daughter, Carol Ann Leveillee; a son-in-law, David Gilbert; and two siblings, Albert Wyman and Bertha Suprenant.

Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Mulhane Funeral Home in Millbury, with a service following at 6 p.m. Burial will be private at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, Conn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 393 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01105.
