MILLBURY, Mass. - This weekend there some great local events that may be of interest to our readers and residents.
Friday:
Cross Rock Band at the Mill Church Cafe - Hailing from Horizon Christian Fellowship in Fitchburg, come and enter in with powerful worship from this anointed group of worshippers who take their gifts into the prisons to share the Good News. The Mill Church Cafe is located on River St. and the Cross Rock Band will be performing from 7 - 9:30 p.m.
Saturday:
The Auburn Mall Kidgit Club Celebrates 75 Years of Dr. Seuss - From 1 - 4 p.m. Families can wander Dr. Seuss’s whimsical world of imaginary wonder by participating in the event’s fun-filled activities: Take part in a fascinating in-mall book reading, narrated by local celebrity Capture a photo in front of a splendid Mulberry Street-themed backdrop featuring a variety of children’s favorite Dr. Seuss characters. Families may also have the chance to interact and snap a photo with the cheerful event VIP, The Cat in the Hat. Enjoy a television episode of PBS KIDS’ “The Cat In The Hat Knows a Lot About That!”(Check local listings for more information.) Decorate marvelous Mulberry Street bookmarks and enchanting Dr. Seuss-inspired crowns and tiaras. Create captivating “And To Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street” booklets. The event will conclude with a parade that ends at Auburn Mall’s Gymboree and The Children’s Place, where goodie bags filled with terrific treats will be given out.
Millbury Little League Registration - Final Registration for Millbury Little League will be held Saturday, March 10th from 9 a.m. to noon at the Shaw School. For ages 5 to 16. For forms and info go to www.millburylittleleague.org
Sunday:
Breakfast with Sen. Michael O. Moore - Senator Moore is holding a breakfast fundraiser at the Charles Minney VFW Post 3329 from 9 -11 a.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door or reserved online by credit card at www.electmikemoore.com or paid by check payable to the Committee to Re-Elect Michael Moore and mailing it to William Borowski, Treasurer 19 Shirley Ave. Millbury, MA 01527. There is a $10 donation cost and seniors over 60 are free.
Home Shopping Blitz to Benefit Asa Waters Mansion - The Friends of the Asa Waters Mansion will be hosting a Home Shopping Blitz on Sunday, March 11 from 1- 4 p.m. Just in time for Mother’s Day and for those with spring fever. The Mansion will be filled with vendors offering a variety of home goods and decorating accessories, along with specialty products including custom jewelry, make up and skincare, pocketbooks, and much more.
Participating vendors include Avon, Celebrating Home, Endearments by Mary Ann Shaw, Karen's Salon and Gifts, Lia Sophia, Longaberger Baskets, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Perfectly Posh, Pink Papaya, Scentsy, Silpada, Stella & Dot, Tastefully Simple, Thirty-One Gifts, Tupperware, Usborne Books, Vantel Pearls, and Wildtree. Light refreshments will be served.
