Obituary: Josephine (Kozlowski) Louzonis, 92

WORCESTER, Mass. - Josephine (Kozlowski) Louzonis, 92, of Worcester, formerly of Auburn and Millbury, died Thursday, April 19, 2012 in St. Francis Nursing and Rehab Center. Her husband of 51 years, Joseph S. Louzonis died in 1991.


She leaves two sons, Joseph S. Louzonis, Jr., and his wife Valerie of Brooklyn, NY, and John A. Louzonis and his wife Helena of Worcester; four grandchildren, Timothy, Daniel, Margaret and Catherine, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Radesky of Shrewsbury and Helen Kilinski of Worcester and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Kozlowski and a sister, Irene Ankstitus. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Michael and Bessie (Nowicki) Kozlowski.


Mrs. Louzonis was a licensed practical nurse working private duty for many years before retiring in 1985. Previously she had worked for Worcester State Hospital and for the Belmont Home. Josephine was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and was a former choir member there. She was also a member since 1957 of the Third Order of St. Francis.


The funeral will be held on Monday, April 23 with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Monday, April 23 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church.

Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., is directing funeral arrangements.
