Obituary: Constance A. "Connie" Sieniuc, 97

MILLBURY, Mass. - Constance A. "Connie" Sieniuc, 97, of Millbury, died at her home on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 with her daughter by her side.


She Leaves her daughter Barbara Welsh and her husband Douglas of Rocky Hill, Connecticut; three grandsons, Daniel Welsh and his wife Danette of Fair Play, Colorado; Robert Welsh of Las Vegas, Nevada and Matthew Welsh of Dallas, Texas. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

She was born in Worcester, the first born and last surviving child of Peter and Anna (Vainavicius) Stepanauskas and has lived in Millbury for 43 years. Her husband, Francis R. Sieniuc died in 1993. A son, Robert F. Sieniuc died in 1963 and a daughter, Elizabeth A. Sieniuc died in 2006. She was also predeceased by two brothers and three sisters, Peter and Anthony Stepanauskas and Ruth Sinkus, Nellie Logan and Joan Bahosh.


Mrs. Sieniuc worked 16 years for the Paul Revere Insurance Co., and retired in 1980. Before then she worked for Jobbers Outlet and Raytheon. Connie was a graduate of the former Commerce High School. She was a lifetime member of the former St. Casimir Church, Worcester. She enjoyed singing in the church choir. Connie was an avid sports fan: the Boston Red Sox were her favorite team. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble and Jumblemania.


Calling hours in Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St., Worcester are Thursday, April 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday, April 13 from 9 to 10 a.m.  before leaving for her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. John's Church, 40 Temple St, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UMASS Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, Ma., 01605.
