MILLBURY, Mass. - The Millbury High School Music Department presented "A Night of Percussion" on Thursday at Millbury High School. It was a fantastic mix of music conducted by the Millbury High School Percussion Ensemble, and local percussion guests Mike Castro, Dan Ferreria, Mike Morel, Pieter Struyk, Thomas Wilson, as well as Jim Rollins and Jason Richard.
After starting off with "Sketches of the Orient," the music had selections from Pat Metheny before the first intermission. The guest percussionists put on an interesting and fun set with "Charleston Capers" and "Head Talk".
Then they moved on to the "Ogoun Badagris" before going on the "Stinkin' Garbage" which was as visually entertaining as it was musically.
Dan Ferreria, band director at Millbury High School and Jim Rollins, band director at Shaw Elementary and Millbury Jr. High, have brought the Millbury music scene at the schools to the next level.
