MILLBURY, Mass. — The Millbury Youth Commission is looking for a few good kids, literally. The recently re-assembled Youth Commission wants youngsters in grades 4-12 to volunteer to serve on a committee within the commission.

The mission statement for the commission states that it “shall plan, organize and implement recreational and educational programs and activities meant to benefit youth of all ages, interests and backgrounds in the Town of Millbury.”

On Wednesday evening Millbury Firefighter Tim Cluett who is a member of the commission explained that “in order to find the types of activities that would attract the youth of Millbury, we’re reaching out to the kids themselves, to take an active role.”

Cluett added, “We are hoping that some energetic kids from the community get involved and come forward with some great ideas,” he said. “It will add the kids’ perspective and encourage other kids to not only get involved but spread the word.”

Any of Millbury’s youngsters in grades 4-12 that are interested in becoming involved in the Youth Commission are free to attend the next meeting.  It is scheduled for Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the small conference room at Millbury Town Hall.
