MILLBURY, Mass. - School has been canceled in Millbury Wednesday due to snow, Superintendent Susan Hitchcock said.
In a phone call to parents, Hitchcock said the winter weather hitting Central Mass. caused the cancellation.

It is always easy to be Monday morning quarterback about these decisions. The superintendent can't ever win. If she cancels school and the storm doesn't materialize, parents get mad. If she doesn't cancel school and the storm is worse than expected and a bus gets into an accident on the way to school (which has happened from time to time over the years), people flip out and say how stupid it was to not cancel school. I figure it is better to be safe than sorry.
should have only been a 2 hour delay. What a school schedule. Winter break, now today off, Friday off, and Monday off. Nice 4 day weekend 2 weeks after Christmas/New Years break.
