Dorothy M. (Peter) Legassey

GRAFTON, Mass. - Dorothy M. (Peter) Legassey, 89, passed Feb. 20, 2013 after a recent illness.

Her husband of 43 years, Roger “Buck” Legassey, passed in 1987. She leaves seven children: Larry Legassey and his wife Dawn of Uxbridge, Janice Norsigian and her husband Charles of Millbury, Sandra Beaudoin and her husband Roger of Dudley, James Legassey of Uxbridge, William Legassey and his wife Carol of Sutton, Linda Pollinger and her husband Joe of Grafton, Thomas “Harry” Legassey and his wife Deborah of Douglas; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter. Shirley Stallsmith (2009), two sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Legassey was born Dec. 2, 1923 and raised in Sutton, Neb., the daughter of the late Harry and Pearl (Reutzel ) Peter. She came to Grafton after World War II. living in the  Village of Farnumsville in South Grafton. She was a member of VFW Post 1497 Ladies Auxiliary and The Senior Citizens of Grafton.  She loved playing bingo, traveling with the senior citizens and doing ceramics. The greatest joy in her life was her children, grandchildren and family and the times they spent together. All are invited to calling hours Monday February 25th from 5 to 8 pm at the Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St. in North Grafton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church, 89 Main St. South Grafton. All attending Tuesday are respectfully asked to meet at the church.
