MILLBURY, Mass. — Millbury resident Brandon Bunnewith recently won an essay contest on Facebook sponsored by SnowSports Industries America and Skiing Business and won a trip to Denver to attend the 2013 SIA Snow Show.

Bunnewith, 21 and a senior at UMass Amherst majoring in sport management was among more than 30 who entered the Skiing Business Facebook contest. Entrants had to submit a 150-word essay detailing why they want to attend the event and what their career goals are in the ski industry.

As part of the winning package, he will get a free trip to Denver, including transportation, lodging, and meals. Bunnewith has worked at Competitive Edge Ski and Bike in Holyoke, for three years, and would someday like to work in the ski industry in either sales or marketing.

His contest essay stated his future plans, “I have dreams of owning my own brand management/sales firm, consulting firm for shops, mountains and travel, or an event management firm,” he said. “I would love the opportunity to travel to SIA in order to get my foot in the door of the ski industry and make new connections inside the industry.”

Bunnewith is the son of Cynthia and Gary Bunnewith of Millbury. His sister, Marissa, attends the College of St. Rose, and his brother Corey went to the Culinary Institute of America and is president of a wine and liquor consultant firm
