MILLBURY, Mass. — The rosy glow of Christmas cheer was cast across Millbury center Sunday during the town's annual Chain of Lights celebration, with festivities culminating in the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at Asa Waters Mansion.
Each year the holiday event spotlights some of Millbury's best places, which open their doors for a series of Christmas-themed activities.
From young angels flapping their little wings into the live nativity scene at Millbury Federated Church, to the skilled dancers from H&H Dance Academy performing at the senior center, there was plenty of sights to lift people's spirits across Millbury throughout the day.
Families also had the opportunity to tour through the historic Asa Waters Mansion, which held surprises around every corner with Mr. and Mrs. Claus greeting children in one room while musicians like the Dynamic Duo and the Greendale Retired Men's Club Chorus entertained in the other.
After the sun set, the voices of the Shaw School Chorus singing Christmas songs brightened up the bandstand before Roger Desrosier and Bill Kane of the Millbury Bicentennial Committee rang in the holiday season by lighting up the Christmas Tree.
