MILLBURY, Mass. — You can help the Millbury Boy Scouts and possibly win a nice cut of beef at the same time Saturday, Jan. 19, when the Millbury Lions Club holds a Meat Raffle at the St. Charles Hotel.
The raffle will take place from 2 to 5 p.m., and a portion of the proceeds will go directly to Millbury Boy Scout Troop 109 to help pay for camping trips, gear and the troop's busy, year-round scouting program.
All residents are invited to come out, have fun and win some great cuts of meat while helping out the Lions Club and the Boy Scouts.
Troop 109 has been continuously chartered with the Boy Scouts of America in Millbury since 1922. For over 90 years, it has stood as an example of the “Mohegan’s Council’s Finest” and held the highest standards of leadership, outdoor skills and community service, training for boys ages 11 through 17.
For more information about scouting or to sign up, visit Troop 109's website, or visit a weekly troop meeting. They are held every Thursday at 7 p.m. in the basement of the Millbury Federated Church.
