Pelham Volleyball Completes Undefeated Week

PELHAM, N.Y. -- The Pelham volleyball team had a week teams can only dream about. The Pelicans swept visiting Suffern, 25-15, 25-18, 25-17, Friday, to complete the week with four wins over high-caliber opponents. Pelham also defeated Westlake, Eastchester and Panas.

"It was a really good week with wins over four quality team," Pelham volleyball Mark Finegan said. Pelham improved to 5-0 this season. Lauren Keller had a match-best 30 assists and also added five aces. Helen Gandler led Pelham with nine kills and had two aces.

"Our defense was strong, particularly on serve-receive," said Finegan of the Suffern match. "There was good balance on offense with strong hitting from Taylor (Maloney) and Helen (Gandler). Lauren (Keller) was strong again, as well."
