MILLBURY, Mass. — On Tuesday afternoon, the Millbury Public Library had some special guests on hand for the kids and adults alike as it welcomed the Animal World Experience for a special hands-on program.
The mission of Animal World Experience is to provide fun, interactive and educational animal presentations to audiences of all ages. Programs focus on local and exotic wildlife, the importance of protecting endangered species and responsible pet ownership. The purpose of the animal presentations is so people will develop respect and awareness for animals of all kinds. Animal World Experience is now owned and operated by Matt and Melissa Gabriel.
Matt Gabriel is an outgoing, relaxed animal lover/educator who teaches first but also generates a great deal of interaction with the kids. Questions were flying toward him all through his program and his “teach and experience” system of introducing children to different mammals, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates was a big success with the kids.
Gabriel would bring out animals, including a rabbit, chinchilla, African frog, corn snake, turtle and a hissing cockroach and teach the crowd about them, and then he walked around the room and let each member of the audience get up close and personal with the critter. After his class was over, he brought the animals back out for a short petting session.

Very creative use of the Library. Who says that the internet and e-books have to kill libraries? Here's an experience that the kids can't get over the internet.
